Congregational Care Ministries provide support and assistance to members of our congregation.

Grief Support

Healing Hearts Grief Recovery is a support gorup for people who have experienced any kind of loss. The loss of a spouse, a child, a parent, or even a job. It is for people going through any kind of loss that causes grief. Grief is a heavy burden for any one to bear, especially alone. It takes courage to make the first move and admit you need help with your grief. This support group offers compassion and empathy becuase they have experienced the same losses. Making new friends and learning to rebuild life is the most important part of the class. Participants learn from one another how they are letting go of their grief. We pray for each other, support each other and share with each other. The Grief facilitators are Bernice Ray and Ron Day. If you or someone you know would benefit from the group or would like more information please call Ron Day at 358-0171. Meetings are held every Monday at 12:30 at the Raleigh-Frayser Senior Citizens Center. There is no charge.

Transportation Ministry

The transportation ministry brings people to Sunday school and worship service on Sunday mornings. Call the church office at 386-4563 to sign up if you need a ride to church, even if it's just for one time. You will receive a phone call the day before to confirm that you need a ride the next morning and about what time we will be there Sunday morning.

Library

The church library is located in Room 108C. It is open anytime the church is open, and directions for checking out books and other materials are posted on the back wall. We have a large selection of books for adults (shelved by the dewey Decimal System), a children's and youth's section, books for the United Methodist Women's Reading Program, and an excellent reference shelf. We do ask that reference materials be used in the library and that they not be taken off the church property. If a reference book needs to be used in another part of the church, please isgn it out in the notebook under the reference shelves. We also have a fine collection of over 250 audeo-cassette tapes of Dr. Jems Dobson's radio series "Focus on the Family". These tapes are thirty minutes on each side and cover a wide range of topics: family relationships, child rearing, teenage problems, and other contemporary issues. A short summary of each tape is located near the boxes containg the tapes. If you have any questions concerning the library, please call the church office at 386-4563 or Dorothy Freeman at 372-0501.
