United Methodist Women

Heading
Purpose of the United Methodist Women: To know God and experience freedom as a whole person through Jesus Christ. To develop a creative, supportive, fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Our membership here at Bartlett is diversified, growing and very active in the local church and community. We range in age from the early twenties to early eighties; we work in the home and outside of the home; we're single and married; we are Methodist or simply believe in the Purpose of UMW. What draws us together is a trmendous supportive communikty that allows us to express our love of Jesus Christ through study, service, and fellowship. You will find that some of the deepest friendships evolve from UMW.

Circle Meetings

"Circles" are sub-groups of the total membership. They meet once a month in addition to the General Meetings. Most Circles meet in members' homes to share refreshments, fellowship, business and study. There are both day and night Circle meetings. The following is a short description of each Circle. To attend, cll the hostess for directions and to confirm the time and place.

Day Circles:

Faith and Hope Service Circle:
4th Tuesday -- 9:30am
Made up of project-oriented women who are a wide range of ages and stages. They meet at the church for a brief business meeting and then proceed to their project for that month (i.e. soup making for shut-ins, "towel-bib" making, annual trip to Wesley Highland Manor to wrap Christmas gifts, etc.). Thier meetings are flexible and perhaps a bit less structured.

Night Circles:

Vital Circle:
2nd Monday -- 7:00pm
Vital Circle is a group of women with children, grandchildren, single and married. Most work outside the home. This group is actively interested in the community and civic affairs as well as pursuing UMW study.
