FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS of jpro:
What do we wear to sing? Crossroads Polo (available for $15 each after rehearsals), khaki pants, and decent shoes. If the weather is cool, you may wear a white shirt underneath for warmth.
What time do we need to be here before worship to sing? Unless otherwise specified: 30 minutes before the service. That means before the 8:15am service, singers should be ready to rehearse at 7:45am; before the 10:50am service, singers should be ready to rehearse no later than 10:30am.
What do I bring to rehearsals? A sharpened pencil, your music, your voice, a willingness to learn, and a sense of humor.
I lost my music, where can I find extra music? Look in the choir suite in the rolling file cart. Music should be listed alphabetically. Music isn't cheap, so if you've lost it or ruined it, you may be asked to cover the cost to replace it.
What is the attendance policy? Anyone is welcome to sing with us at any time. We love visitors!!! However, if you wish to go on the Summer Choir Tour you must have fewer than 5 absences per semester.
When do we sing next? Check the

I can't make every rehearsal. I have a ton of homework. I will be out of town. I have the flu. My throat hurts. Then come when you can! It is better that you come when you can, than never at all!
I love this church so much that I don't want to leave after rehearsals. Can I stay in the choir room forever? Ummm, no. Who would want to stay when you can go to UMYF (united Methodist Youth Fellowship) at 5:15pm in the LEC? You'll get a delicious snack supper for only $1, fellowship with old and new friends, and learn about being a Christian in this confusing and chaotic world.
My voice keeps cracking and I can't hit all the notes. Can I still be a part of the choir? Absolutely! Puberty does some crazy things to your vocal chords. Weather those changes and rollercoaster hormones, and you'll find that you have a richer, more mature sounding voice... eventually. Honest!
I can't sing and seem to have no talent. Will you kick me out? No way! That's what rehearsals are for! Come to practice and you'll surely get better. It says in the psalms to "Make a Joyful Noise to the Lord!" So please, give it a shot. Music can be so gratifying and uplifting. It is a gift from God, so enjoy it!!!
